SSN and its Member Organizations are pleased to present the SSN CoP20 Digest, a summary and analysis of the proposals and working documents to be considered at the 20th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to CITES, to be held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, in 2025.
The Digest, available in English, French, and Spanish, aims to provide Parties with clear and concise information on more than 110 agenda documents and 51 proposed amendments to the Appendices.
This meeting takes place at a pivotal moment in the Convention’s 50-year history—marked by increasingly limited financial resources, a growing workload, and the pressures of a global human population that has doubled since 1975. We hope the Digest will help facilitate a well-informed debate that places the survival of wild species affected by international commercial trade at the heart of the decisions Parties make.
