Members
of the SSN Elephant
Working Group work together to investigate, report, campaign and lobby
on issues relating to trade in African and Asian elephants and their
body parts. The international ivory trade-both legal and illegal
remains a significant threat to many elephant populations. The Elephant
Working Group has produced reports on illegal ivory seizures and
elephant poaching for the last three Meetings of the Conference of the
Parties to CITES. The Working Group also addresses live elephant trade
for zoos, safari parks and other entertainment facilities.
